Our fees

We publish our fees and the Medicare rebates in full, so you can work out what a session will actually cost you before you call.

Individual sessions

Rebates are for a 50-minute appointment, and you can access rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Once you reach the safety net, the rebate is 80% of the gap.

How to claim a Medicare rebate

Medicare's Better Access Initiative allows rebates for both individual and group sessions, and these differ for sessions with a Clinical Psychologist compared with a General Psychologist.

For Medicare rebates, a referral is needed from a GP or psychiatrist. They will assess your eligibility for a Mental Health Care Plan, and provide you with a referral to bring to your first appointment or group session.

Group programs

Groups are $1100 for 10-week classes of 120 minutes (2 hours) per class. Rebates for groups are also possible and can be in addition to rebates for individual sessions. The rebate for groups with Emily is $68.30 per session. For a 10-week group therapy class the total out of pocket, if you have not reached the safety net, is $417. Once you reach the safety net, the out of pocket for each session is about $7.

The Ageing Wisely program is charged separately at $110 per session, with participants attending 11 weekly sessions for the cost of 10, plus a $50 program workbook. See the group programs.

Private health insurance

If you have private health cover for psychological treatment then you may also be entitled to claim a rebate. The claimable amount and number of sessions per calendar year depend on your health cover. We suggest you consult your private health insurer for more information.

You can only claim a rebate through either Medicare or your private health insurer for any one session or group class.
